Active ingredient

As well as their intelligent design, these products combine several innovative technologies.

Each fabric and jersey knit used to manufacture the products have been subjected to a finish whose active ingredient provides the following benefits:

- Lasting antimicrobial properties verified by European laboratories and effective against a wide spectrum of bacteria, viruses, fungi and algae.
- Specific technology used to introduce the active ingredient into the item ensuring that no particles are released onto the skin or into the environment.
- Prevents unpleasant odours.
- Highly efficient in preventing cross contamination.

How it works

Microorganisms are eliminated by means of a mechanism that mechanically ruptures them, as opposed to the traditional methods that use heavy particles to poison the bacteria. This tecnology significantly reduces the probability of bacteria developing and becoming resistant, and remains effective for a long period of time.

Washing and resistance

The antimicrobial technology used is highly resistant to frequent washes with over 99% efficiency even after several washes, remaining functional throughout the product’s whole lifespan.
Testing has proven antimicrobial efficiency up to 50 wash cycles.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ACTIVE PRINCIPLE:

Excellent skin tolerance – tested as per standard OECD 406, HRIPT.

Does not interfere with the skin’s natural microbial environment.

Does not use heavy metals.

Non-toxic for residual water bacteria.

Biodegradable (OECD 209/302B).

Registered product and approved by EPA and BPR.

Product registered on the ECHA 95 list to be sold as antimicrobial in the European Union

REACH registered.

Ökotex certified product.

Water repellent

Viruses are usually airborne and therefore transmitted via droplets. The extra protection added to the mask means that the outer layer of the fabric acts as a strong and invisible water repellent barrier. This means that, by impeding the droplets from adhering to the outer layer of the mask, there is an increased probability of droplets containing a virus to be repelled from the surface of the mask.

The user’s movements or air friction are enough to repel any droplets in contact with the product.

Comfort

A high-density polymer applied directly to the textile underlayer creates an efficient and intelligent moisture management system, which helps to distribute the water molecules throughout the fabric so that it dries faster.

The concentration used means that it has excellent colour-fastness after repetitive washing.

This product is biodegradable and is bluesign and Ökotex certified and REACH registered.

RECOMMENDATIONS

This product has been developed with the most advanced textile technologies on the market with the aim of protecting users from microbial contaminations.

This product is not a medical device. It does not comply with the regulation for surgical masks (regulation EU/2017/745).

It can be used in hospital settings, but it is not a medical device and it has not been developed to comply with hospital standards and should not therefore be used for this purpose.

There is no way of ensuring that users of this product are not contaminated by microbes.
